Sunday, July 18 – 1:00pm to 5:00pm
Minimum 4, maximum 10 participants
Come visit the flower farm and spend an afternoon dyeing with plants and making a floral arrangement. Jane Jacobs is a textile artist living and creating in Newmarket. Her practice focuses on creating one-of-a-kind textiles with silk, wool, and handmade felt. Using plant matter, minerals, metals and food waste, her various dye techniques give each garment a unique story.
Cathy Bartolic operates Perennial Petals Flower Farm in Stouffville where she grows an array of annual and perennial specialty cutflowers. She has a keen sense of how plants and flowers can mingle to produce stunning bouquets and arrangements. Each participant will make a silk scarf, floral arrangement and a few Hapa Zome cards to take home with them. You are also encouraged to bring another piece of cotton or silk clothing that you can dye during the afternoon.
No refund will be available unless the workshop is cancelled.
